Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data is processed when you use the TallyPad app and when you visit this website. It is the English equivalent of the German Datenschutzerklärung.

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Placeholder – to be completed before publishing: legal name and mailing address of the data controller (individual or company). Until this is filled in, this policy is legally incomplete for jurisdictions that require it (e.g. GDPR Art. 13).

2. Summary

  • No account or registration required.
  • No cloud sync – all tallies stay on your device.
  • No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
  • No usage data is transmitted to us or third parties.
  • No cookies on this website.

3. Data processing in the TallyPad app

Local storage

TallyPad stores tallies (title, entries, amounts, timestamps) and settings (e.g. language, appearance, default currency) exclusively on your device, using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device; we have no access to it and no knowledge of its contents.

No cloud synchronization

TallyPad currently does not sync any data via iCloud or any other cloud service. Tallies are only available on the device on which they were created.

In-app purchases

TallyPad offers optional additional content called "TallyPad Pro". Purchases are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store (StoreKit); payment and account data are handled solely by Apple under its own privacy policy. We never receive payment data. As of this writing, purchasing TallyPad Pro is not yet enabled.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

TallyPad contains no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. There is no user tracking, profiling, or usage analysis.

Network access

The app does not transmit data to our own or third-party servers during normal use. Any network activity happens indirectly through the operating system, for example when the app is obtained through the App Store or — once enabled — during in-app purchases via StoreKit.

System permissions

TallyPad does not require any special system permissions such as camera, contacts, location, or microphone access.

Deletion

Individual tallies can be deleted at any time within the app. All app data is permanently removed when you uninstall TallyPad.

4. Data processing when visiting this website

This website (tallypad.app) is a purely static site with no cookies, tracking scripts, or contact forms. When you visit it, the hosting provider automatically processes technical access data (e.g. IP address, date, time, page requested, browser used) in server log files, as is technically standard for any web server. This data is used solely for system security and troubleshooting and is not combined with any other data source.

Placeholder: hosting provider name and exact log retention period to be added once known.

This website does not use cookies or comparable tracking technologies.

5. Your rights

Where personal data is processed (such as IP addresses in server log files), you may have the following rights under applicable law (e.g. GDPR):

  • Access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Lodging a complaint with a data protection authority

For any requests, contact support@tallypad.app.

6. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy will be updated whenever data processing in TallyPad or on this website changes, for example due to new features. The current version is always available at this address.
